- Drink More Water –It is unfortunate,but most people are chronically dehydrated because of their consumption of other types of drinks such as soda and coffee. To add to that,people who are trying to lose weight fast are often afraid that if they drink water they will gain water weight. The exact opposite is actually the truth. If you don’t drink enough water,that is what causes your body to hold onto water,leading to water weight. This is a survival instinct and the only way to not allow it to happen is to drink plenty of water. Water also helps your body to run better,so processes like metabolism which break down food and burn calories can run better.
- Make Healthier Food Choices –While fast food is fast and easy,it is horrible for your body. You’ll need to make better choices with what you eat,both for meals and for snacking. One way to do this is to count the calories of stuff you eat. While that alone won’t solve everything,it is a good,quick indication of the type of foods you are consuming. Eat more vegetables and fruits because those can help to fill you up,but not have a high calorie count. Lastly,choose low fat or non-fat options if given a choice,and choose leaner meats like turkey and chicken,and get leaner beef if you want beef.
- Eat More Often –Lastly,one way to keep your metabolism going throughout the day is to eat more often. If you’re eating 3 regular meals and 6 snacks in between those meals,that will help to continue the metabolic process throughout the day,continually burning calories. Just make sure to eat smaller portions when you do eat.
Exercise Tips
- Don’t Do Much Cardio –You don’t want to do much cardio because you’ll stop being able to lose weight despite being able to run longer and farther. The reason you’ll be able to run longer is because your body will become much more efficient. While this is fantastic if you are looking to run the Boston marathon,it is horrible for weight loss. Being more efficient means it uses less energy (read:burns less calories).
- Do Strength Training Exercises –Strength training,or resistance training,will help your body to be able to build up muscle thanks to the resistance provided by various items. Those items could be workout machines,free weights,resistance bands,and sometimes,even your own body weight. Push ups,squats and lunges are all great body weight resistance exercises. The more lean muscle mass you build,the better your body will be able to burn fat.
