All the people who know me,are aware of the fact that I am a big fan of online shopping. Generally I trust the companies that sell their products online, and I have had great service so far,and to be honest I would never think that they would rip me off. Based on my experiences I could recommend online shopping to anyone, any time. I am usualy the guy who hears someone bragging how cheap they bought something from a sale, and then I go and point at them that you could get it cheaper from this webstore, have it delivered to your front door for free by tomorrow, and also not bother leaving your house to place the order. When I hear stuff about companies like Camden-Grey Essential Oils that are ripping people off –it makes my blood boil.
Taking advantage off the fact that you are online –you can’t be personally visited –and in most cases you are in a different city, state or country is outrageous to me. I am an online entrepreneur, and I am sure that at some point my business is going to start selling a product or service to real customers that pay directly to me. This means that there is going to be customer relations involved, and this kind of stuff just does not go with me. I am pretty sure that Camden-Grey Essential Oils would not be behaving like this if their customers were to visit their shop and see the people personally –it is not so easy to hide behind e-mail blocking when the person complaining is standing in front of you.
The whole idea of internet shopping is to be able to trust the seller –they are going to deliver you the exact product that you ordered and it is supposed to be exactly as described on the website. If the essential oils don’t smell like grapefruit and ginger, you are not supposed to sell them as essential oils that smell like that. My friend David is not the only one to have bad experiences with Camden-Grey Essential Oils Inc. To me it seems like this company is making most of their money by double charging credit cards, shipping products that are not what described, and basically just ignoring their customer service. I would have to strongly advice you to stay away from them, and order your essential oils somewhere else.
I had a very similar experience to the one linked here…but mine came after nearly 4 years of business with this company and thousands of dollars of purchases. This proves that they don’t honor their long-time patrons any better than they do their first-timers. Please do not use this company.
I made a order with these people on December 04,2009. I did not get my product. The product was lost and my phone calls were never returned and they sent me some e-mails that were very hostile, mean, and rude. On there web they provide you with 3 ways to order (internet shopping ,mail service,&phone service )and they have a phone number for you to call when you need them to call you,it says to leave a detailed message, and spelling of a difficult name our they will not be able to contact you back. All 3 of my messages I left a detailed message with the spelling of my last name since people seem to have a hard time with my last name. I never got a phone call back. I was told in the e-mail they recently sent me that they are only a internet business and they don’t have to call me back. If you go to there website they have 3 different ways to purchase product. According to what they have advertised and available on their site that just does not seem like a sole internet business to me. Why do they provide a contact number advertised for you to call so that they can supposedly returned your phone call if they aren’t going to do so?
I did however finally get a e-mail today from them which finally said they will give me my money back. However I was not told about the money part until she first expressed her rude unprofessional bad customer service behavior with her unnecessary comments. The e-mail she was responding to was to my e-mail that I sent to the company because my previous e-mail and phone call was not answered and UPS finally ( after some time of me telling them that I’m contacting the company but they aren’t contacting me back) gave me a little more information about what was going on and I wanted this foolishness to stop. I also wanted this business to be finished. In that e-mail I expressed that UPS had informed them my package was lost on 12- 28-09 and UPS is waiting and have been waiting for them to send the information that they need so the claim can get finished and I can get my money back . I also told them that because of my illness I don’t have time for this and they she not be taken advantage of a ill woman so please take care of what should have been taken care of since 12-28-09. She replied back to that by saying she did not have time do deal with me.
Now they did send me some e-mails that I did not receive. She put a copy of the ones she sent in the e-mail I finally received. So when she sent me the one that went through I did reply back and let her know that I did not receive these e-mails and I told her she should have returned my phone calls because it was obvious if she sent me e-mails and I’m calling after the time she said she sent these e-mails to me and I’m asking why have you not contacted me back and I asking to know what is going on and I like my product or my money back. I think that it’s safe to say that you should know you need to finally return this customers phone calls
I also told her that the e-mails that she said she sent were noted as being sent after Dec. 28,09 and address issue were irrelevant because UPS has told them that the package was lost and they needed they’re information so the claim could be made so I can get my money back and I also called and told them to give me my money back since I’m not getting my product. This should have been taken care of late December and today 0 1-19-09 It should definitely be taken care of. They said they were going to give me my money back. I have not received it back yet. I’m just going to have to wait and see if they actually do return me my funds. Their attitude is evil and mean spirited and from what I’m reading now the products are bad also. It is probably good I never received my product. This is a business I should have avoided and so should every one else.
And according to this article,I totally agree with your opinion, but only this time!

Hello, this is Moriah Tutino, just identified your Post on google and i must say this blog is great.may I share some of the article found in this blog to my local mates?i’m not sure and what you think?in either case,Thx!
Thanks so much for the post! I too was just about to place an order for $150.00. Thank goodness I decided to check customer satisfaction with this company first!
I bought some shea butter lotion from this busines and it was nice then the next time I ordered it they changed the recipe and ingredients and it was much thinner and more preservatives. I asked to ship back my order and was told they don’t take back products and if I want to have it replaced with somehing else not to reorder that product from them ever again. I was shocked the way they treated me and asked to speak to the manager / owner she said you are speaking to the owner. I have never reorded from them again and won’t.
I read the complaint and have to say that the grapefruit-ginger oil is definitely NOT an essential oil,it’s a fragrance oil. You even have to click on the fragrance oil link to find it. It also says in the description that there are notes of jasmine, lilac, violet, rose, peach, pear, apple and a lot more. That would probably explain the floral scent that it had.
This fact doesn’t excuse the deplorable customer service. This owner should really be ashamed of herself. But the buyer just ordered from the wrong category.
I totally agree!!! Their customer service is TERRIBLE. They are very rude and totally unprofessional. STAY AWAY!
This company is horrible. First order and last with them! Unbelievably rude. Shocked they are still in business. I pray for them because it must be a horrible life to be that miserable for no reason.
I placed an order with this company on Sunday,in the order section,it has a box that you can put “special Instructions”,which I indicated for them to ship my things through FedEx and I gave them my account #. I also called on the following Monday &Tuesday morning to make sure they mail my shipment the way I wanted because shipping to Hawaii is very costly and I was using my discount being a FedEx employee. No one ever called me back. On Wednesday,I received an e-mail from them saying that they shipped my box through UPS and the shipping cost was going to be over $100.00. I immediately tried to call them,to no avail. So I sat at my computer and I e-mailed then advising them that they shipped my things through the wrong carrier and that I was not going to pay for that shipping. Well,I got an e-mail back from them saying that I was not allowed to choose my shipping carrier (even though they give the customer an option to choose),so I e-mailed her back advising that she was not going to get one penny from me for shipping and that I wanted the owner of the companies name, which she e-mailed back to me that she was the owner (vivien). I called UPS to see if I could stop the package &they told me the only way was to “refuse”it when it was being delivered. Well,I wasn’t happy with that answer,so since I put the charge on my VISA,I called them and reported my card stolen. The girl at VISA asked me if the last charge that I made was for this comopany,I told her “no”,she said they would in turn send the charge back and they wouldn’t pay it. Iam filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection in Florida and also the Better Business Bureau about this company and their practices. No one should ever have to put up with a company like this. NO ONE. And I surely ain’t. Now,they’re gonna whistle for their money. No one pisses me off and tries to rip me off. NO ONE.
I believe that none of you have sat down and read the terms and conditions of their website. They are very clear and well explained. You are not being ripped off. You are solely responsible for pricing for shipping and it clearly states that they choose who they should send it with. Also,I understand that may be rude, but have you looked at the question your asking. Sometimes people may ask the most ridiculous things that just really tick you off. If you dont like what you read on the terms and conditions then dont buy from them. I have personally been buying from them for almost 7 years and have had no problems with them. Dont believe everything you read. There are alot of competitors claiming their clients to give them a bad name. They have excellent products and their pricing is better than all the others. Before you read this blogs about people that have nothing better to do than to defame a company that has been in business for more than 12 years, give them a try. You’d be surprised at how great their products are.
I am researching trying to find the right stuff for a little venture that I am on,and I came across the Camden Grey site. I am glad they let it known what a horrible company they are just by reading their FAQ’s page…the way they address the questions is unprofessional and rude. I figured I would do a search on them,I thought surely I am not the only one who has seen their FAQ’s and thought “What is wrong with this company?”My search led me hear…I imagine they would make more money if they put their cruddy attitude in check.
NEVER make a purchase from Camden-Grey unless you have money to throw away. They have no business integrity, are fraudulent and rude. They will rip you off. Do not leave your credit card details with them.
I made the mistake of placing an online order last week which they said they could not ship –but refused to refund. They hid behind a no cancellation policy –however would not accept that as they could not fulfill,it wasnt an order cancellation.
E-mail responses from customer service were excessively rude and condescending (Sample below).
“We really don’t have time to continue back and forth discussing this,we’ve stated our position. To refresh your memory of what you were shown during checkout, look at the screen shot below where our logo appears at the bottom of the page. And also look at the top of our Terms &Conditions and Shipping Policies pages.
Any “rational buyer” would immediately recognize a symbol,in red, with a line across an airplane,as meaning NO AIRPLANE. We don’t sell airplanes. Let’s see…….What else could this symbol mean? How much clearer do you want us to be? ”
In summary -
They have accepted payment –however refuse to engage when there is a problem with delivering what they have promised. This is not the way reputable companies behave and i would caution anyone to avoid having anything to do with them. Post above from one called Sasha looks suspiciously like a ‘plant’from the company. DO NOT PLACE ORDERS with this company –there are many reputable alternatives.
Okay –I am not a plant –but I have had only good experiences ordering from Camden Grey. Their products are top quality, delivery is fast, and I have never been double billed. Accidents can happen,so I won’t disagree with the experiences of others, and unfortunately some people who are forced by circumstances to be in Customer Service are not cut out for it. This is probably a good example –a person who builds a business dealing with essential oils –very well might not have the personality to deal with unhappy customers. But the facts that they have been in business for 12 years, have such a large customer base and continue growing –are pretty good indicators that the bad experiences are the exception.
But,hey,Vivian –don’t you have a sweet family member who doesn’t mind the hassle of handling returns and refunds? It would more than pay you back what it takes off your life to deal with problems that irritate you so much.
