My brother had an accident...ended up with a structured settlement via court order and needed more cash than the payments from the annuity were giving him.  I think he may have gotten taken advantage of a little bit by the company that bought just part of the annuity.  He did not shop around, but he still gets regular payments from the half he did not sell and was able to use the cash he got from the company that buys annuities and structured settlements for lots of past due bills and even bought his own house so it worked out well.</description>
